Finding the Best Basics Part 1: Klassy Network Review

Before I begin this post, I want to make it clear.  I am not bashing this brand.  I found a brand that I liked and want to support, but I am also coming into a time in my life when I want to be picky about my clothes.  With that in mind, I do really want to support this brand I would love to live that braless life, but as a small company, it would be impossible for them to have all of the clothes that I want.  Ultimately, I'd actually like to use their clothes to model my own.  I don't want to create a clothing company, but I would like to hand-pick different parts of their designs that I enjoy and create my perfect pieces.  Of course, if I manage to find my perfect piece already made, then I'm going to snatch that up.

A Little Bit About the Company

To start let's talk a little bit about the brand.  I found this brand about two years ago through YouTube shorts.  I am not sure if the owner is a YouTuber that started her own brand or just uses YouTube to promote her brand.  Either way the basis of the brand was to create clothing with integrated bra padding.  The pads would be supportive and removable and the clothes would be functional with or without a bra.  It is a female and Asian-American owned brand, so I definitely want to help support them.  I also would love not having to wear a bra all the time.  The brand started with very basic pieces, but as they grew they started to experiment with formal wear options and trendier pieces.  Now they have their staples (which is what they started with) and keep expanding the color options.  Then they have what seems like seasonal releases which end up being the trendier options.  They also seem to have started experimenting with different fabric types, which my sensitive skin appreciates.  Unfortunately, a lot of the lining parts for the bra pad inserts are still mostly polyester for most styles.

My Intentions

I am mostly looking at this brand for their staples.  As I learn about my style I find that I lean towards simpler pieces in solid colors.  This is basically what this company specializes in.  I also enjoy layering to bring out more personality and contrast.  With that in mind, this company is perfect for selecting my base pieces (for tops), especially since I wouldn't have to wear bras.

My ideal closet would have pieces that all complement each other and also suit my body type.  I have rather wide, fleshy shoulders and many necklines make me look boxy or wide.  I also have a relatively large bust so loose fitting clothes completely hid my figure and make me look shorter.  I've noticed that some of the more relaxed styles that I like suite a different body type, which is unfortunate but not the end of the world.  Additionally, I have to account for different scenarios.  I am still young and enjoy showing some skin when out and about with my friends, but I also have to dress conservatively for the profession I want.  Ideally, I would not need to have two entirely separate wardrobes, but rather some pieces that can go in between.

To start, I've decided on a specific color palette.  When I was in South Korea, I did a color analysis and found out that I am a light summer, but I can also wear some colors from the deep palettes (especially for outerwear).  Luckily, I can also wear black and cool/neutral toned grays.  My best white is a milk white, so not true bright white just a little softer and not warm toned like a cream color.  Unfortunately, my best colors were a pink and yellow (my least favorite colors to wear), and I don't look good in vibrant reds.  Well, I don't care.  I always get complements when I'm in a shade of red, so the palette I selected is milk white, light gray, black, navy, and any type of deep cool red (burgundy, wine, etc.).  Navy is mostly for my professional wear, and the reds will be more for my personal wear.  The other colors will be for basics and used all around.  Generally, this will break down like this.
